What's New with After The Flood

We are very excited about After The Flood's new monthly worship gatherings... We will be traveling to a different church each month (1st Friday of the Month) and hosting a worship gathering open to all.  We will be offering worship, prayer, and fellowship.  This event is NOT a concert.  This is for you.  We want you to join us in a laid back, non-structured time to enjoy God's magnificent presence and to lift up our lives to Him in prayer.

We are looking for more churches to offer their facility to expand this movement.  We don't know where God is going to take this, but we have high hopes and expectations!!!

We will be at First Baptist Crosby in February, and then Faith Family Church in Kingwood for March... More dates/locations to be announced!

Go Forth Student Ministries

Hey guys,

Wanted to post real quick about an awesome night of worship we had at our church youth group the other night.  After The Flood isn't actually affiliated with Go Forth, but Sam leads worship there and Chris plays lead guitar for the youth band.  Every so often we have 'All Worship Wednesday' and the other night was particulary awesome.  God's presence really fell and lives were changed.  If you or anyone you know is looking for a youth ministry to connect with, go to www.gfcspring.org and check out GoForth Student Ministries!!!

After The Flood sponsorship from JHS Pedals

Howdy,

We are proud to announce that we have received an artist sponsorship from JHS Pedals.  These guys do some awesome pedal mods, as well as carry a full line of original, hand-made boutique pedals.  Chris and Jeffrey will both be featuring pedals from JHS on their boards in the near future and some reviews will probably follow.  Make sure you check these guys out at jhspedals.com... they are LEGIT!!!

What's that haze?

So I thought I'd jot this down real quick... I was on my way home this morning from working out.  Generally about the time that I hit the Towsend loop the sun is directly in my eyes.  This has been a source of extreem annoiance since I started working out at Matt's house about 4 months ago.  Today, however, was different.  When I went through the light and made the left-hand turn, already placing the visor in my truck into position, I realized that the sun was not very bright this morning.  In fact, I must have been in some sort of trance not to notice that there was a distinctive haze surrounding my little white truck.  Now to clarify, this was not a fog.  Fogs are a pleasant and transluscent white color that have a cool, wet feeling to them... This was a brownish film that was thick enough to allow me to look directly at the sun for an extended period of time.  It was quite possibly one of the most beautifully ugly things I have ever seen.  I actually pulled over to the shoulder and just sat there for a couple minutes, staring at this wonder before me.  I pulled out my phone to take a picture because it was so interesting and enchanting.

As I pulled back onto Townsend to head home it dawned on me (No pun intended) what an incredible metaphore this was to spiritual life.  Without trying to sound preachy, many of us walk through our days with a similar haze in front of our eyes.  As Christians we are not blind, but we certainly do not always see things for what they really are.  I am talking to myself as much as anyone else... this is just something to think about.  Perhaps we should pray today that we could slow down, and that God would lift the haze so that we can experience life instead of just passing through it.  To see the beauty in our families, in our homes, in our churches, in the menial tasks that seem so worthless.  Life is beautiful because we are redeemed.  We have a purpose.  Don't limit yourself... Let God work in your heart, and show you how beautiful life can be when lived in His will, and beyond our human eyes.

Any thoughts or comments on this subject are very welcome!!!  God bless!!!
